Specifications

This is the counting chamber of choice today. The chamber depth is 0.100 mm. The grid of this chamber has 3 times 3 large squares of 1 mm² each. The 4 corner squares are used for leukocyte counts. The large square in the middle is also subdivided into 5 times 5 group squares, each with a side length of 0.2 mm and an area of 0.04 mm² each. The group squares are in turn subdivided into 16 smallest squares of 0.0025 mm² each. Five of these group squares are used for the erythrocyte count. The fact that the chamber has three border lines on all sides deserves special attention, of which the middle (!) line is to be regarded as the actual dimension line. This is important for assessing whether cells that are in the border area should be counted or not.
